The Old Guard Timeline Explained !



Early in the 5000 BCE , a group of raiders went west across the steps one would never die, in myth and legends she is known as ‘Andromache The Scythian ‘ ,first member of the old guard.

In 4800 BCE, betrayed in battle and left to die she rose again but centuries after she led her people a warrior queen blessed by the gods. Generations passed, and yet she remain one and finally in 3300 BCE her loneliness compelled to leave her people behind, and for thousands of years she roamed the earth, learning, teaching and fighting, always compelled to move on.

For thousands of years she searched for another to share the blessing and curse of immortality and for centuries she found no one. Then she dreamt of a woman seeing at first only in bits and fragments ,with time Andromache The Scythian ‘ came to believe that she was not alone but when she did find her, both came to know a truth that neither of them have to live alone forever again, her name was ‘Quynh ‘ the second know immortal. 7000 years later around 331 BCE during Alexander the great conquest at Yuddha they found a third ‘Lykon’ the third know immortal. They walked the world with very well in battle, eternal fearless and invincible. As centuries past their exploits, their very names moved from fact to story to myth. They would fight together forever or so they thought. How and why ‘Lykon’ immortality abandons him neither ‘Andromache’ nor ‘Quynh’ could say, the wounds that have always healed suddenly did not. Suddenly ‘Lykon’ was dead. And ‘Andromache’ and ‘Quynh’ understood that nothing, not even they could last forever, even for them their walls were ending.

The first crusade calumniates at the siege of Jerusalem in 1099 year, in the fighting ‘Nicholo of Genoa’ the member of the old guard, a young knight left the priesthood behind to follow the crusade. Crossed blades with scion of the merchant trading family from Maghrib named ‘Yusuf al-kaysani’ member of the old guard. The battle could not go either could have imagine, forced by circumstance and put their enmity aside, the two discovered more in common and began a unlikely friendship and drawn to something far more by the time ‘Andromache’ and ‘Quynh’ found them.

Over the next 500 years ,this group of 4 immortals travelled far and wide, seeking those fights and causes they felt worthy of their unique gifts. As the tide of religious hysteria moved across Western Europe attempting to protect the lives of that innocence caught of in the madness of the persecution. After recuing a group of women about to be burned as witches Andy and Quynh found themselves plunged by their neck for their crimes ,death once again refused to two women ,to those watching it confirmed what they suspected were agents of inferno. If they don’t die the priest came for a fitting imprisonment. Rescued by Joe and Nicky before the same fate could fall upon Andy, they searched desperately for Quynh. Plagued by regret and guilt, Andy was never able to forgive to her for abandoning her first and oldest friend.

In 1812 a convicted forge ‘Sebastine Le Livre’ member of the old guard, was given a choice, he could die in prison or he could die for the emperor’s glory and France. He attempted to lead Napoleon’s army in winter of 1812; a fourth option was presented itself when he was hung for desertion. Booker’s education , intellect and curiosity leaded him to much needed addition better adapted to the change of industrial revolution in 1930.Now the team begins their journey in 20th century.

After 6000 years, the ‘Scythian’ has grown weary to the lends of history, to the trapping as the people are petty, selfish, vindictive as ever. ‘Andromache the Scythian ‘tries to find purpose in their immortality, she and her comrades in arms confronted by a modern world that no longer promises their safety. A coming of a new immortal bring about the end of them all, ‘Nile Freeman’ newest member of the old guard, or restore what time has taken from the eternal warrior.
